Love is love. It is God-given, and a sacrament. It is not for any man to judge. Madalyn Murray O'Hair was an American atheist, founder of American Atheists, and was also known as the "Unbeliever's Unbelief Attorney." She was born on June 23, 1927, in New York City.
As a child, she was often teased for being an atheist. It wasn't until later that she realized that the fact that she couldn't believe in God didn't mean that she was an atheist. What it meant was that she believed in God but had no faith in him.
She discovered this when her family went to church on Christmas Eve, and her father told her about Santa Claus and Jesus Christ. They were both real people who lived at different times in history and worked miracles for children all over the world. She decided then and there that she wanted to help people understand the truth about Jesus Christ and his church.
However, when she tried to raise money to start a "new" religion in the United States in the 1960s, she was soon found guilty in a court case and sentenced to prison in 1967 for soliciting donations in order to overthrow the United States government. The "Unbelievers' Unbelief Attorney" died on November 29th 1995 at age 68 from lymphoma after a 14 year battle with cancer.
